COVID-19 Community Corner
Residents of Peterlee encouraged to share COVID-19 community information with Castle Dene Shopping Centre
Castle Dene community shopping centre is urging residents to share community updates relating to COVID-19 in a bid to help keep local people informed.
Whilst only a handful of essential shops remain open at Castle Dene Shopping Centre, in light of the government’s response to COVID-19, the centre is keen to share as much information as possible with the wider community in relation to support available to local people.
Suzanne Chaney, Centre Manager, said: “Castle Dene Shopping Centre is ordinarily at the heart of community life here in Peterlee. Everyday the centre is buzzing with people and, for many of our customers, the centre provides a real lifeline and gives local people a sense of purpose to their day.
“At this challenging time, whilst we do still have a number of essential stores still open, we want to do as much as we can to support the local community in terms of accessing vital support services.
“It’s essential we all work together to ensure the most vulnerable can access everything they need. We are working closely with those essential retailers which remain open to ensure shoppers’ experiences run as smoothly as possible in line with government guidelines.
“Over and above this, we would like to share as much information as possible about community support groups working together to support local people during COVID-19.
“We are encouraging anyone with information relating to this to share it with us so we can spread the message to our online audiences where relevant.”
