Shoppers Get Crafty at Castle Dene
3rd April 2015
From sweet treats to eggscellent gadgets, Castle Dene Shopping Centre was the one-stop-shop for Easter goodies this year. And with plenty of in-store promotions and giveaways to help feather the nest, the centre ensured that Peterlee residents had a spring in their step over the bank holiday weekend.

What’s more, the shopping centre also hosted its own shell-shockingly good two day craft event on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd April, giving children over the age of three the opportunity to Get Crafty at Castle Dene and create some eggsceptional goodies. Participation was free and took place in a designated workshop studio located in The Chare.
“Children really enjoyed the Crafts and it’s nice to see extra activites for Children in the holidays.”
The workshop was choc-a-block with fun and saw a variety of crafts being made including cards, egg cups, baskets, bonnets, crowns and more! Once complete, the cracking creations could be taken home just in time for Easter.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service, Castle Dene’s nominated charity for 2015, was also in attendance raising awareness, collecting donations and running a raffle where ten plush Miles the Bear mascot teddies could be won.
“We came on Wednesday and enjoyed it so much that we came again on Thursday!”

“We were delighted to be able to offer shoppers a wealth of entertainment and activity for the Easter period whilst raising funds for our charity of the year; the GNAA. It was great to see so many children utilising their artistic skills and producing some inspired Easter creations. We look forward to hosting similar events throughout the rest of 2015.”
