31st March 2016
With plenty of sweet treats and egg-citing gadgets, Castle Dene Shopping Centre was a one-stop-shop for Easter goodies this year.
And with an array of in-store promotions and giveaways, there were lots of ways to ensure Peterlee residents feathered their nests during March.
Castle Dene Shopping Centre hosted a FREE Easter Craft Workshop on Saturday 26th March from 10am to 3pm. Demonstrating a variety of techniques, little ones could decorate bunny masks with paints, gems, glitter and more.
The workshop provided the perfect opportunity for children, over the age of 3, to create eggscellent works of art just in time for Easter Sunday. All materials were provided and supervision and guidance was given on the day to help with the creative process.
“We were over the moon with the attendance on the day of our Easter event and the interest in our associated competition. We look forward to hosting similar events and promotions at the shopping centre throughout the year.”
Matt Middleton, from Castle Dene Shopping Centre
It was great to see lots of happy families turning out to get crafty. All the tables at the workshop were filled, with over 100 children taking part in the activities! Tots produced some cracking creations and the event proved to be a great opportunity for the ‘grown ups’ to spend quality time with them.
Golden Bunny Easter Hunt
Following the workshop, children could take part in a Golden Bunny Easter Hunt around the shopping centre with the Hop-a-Lot duo! The floppy eared pair used a secret map to help tots hunt out bunnies in the stores. Hunters then told the centre where they had spied bunnies for the chance to win a luxury hamper of treats courtesy of Sweet Dreams, Wilko and Boots. The winner will be announced on the centre’s Facebook page on Friday 1st April.
A Cracking Success!
Overall the event was a huge success, with all feedback forms given out on the day unanimous in their positive comments.
